International Student Scholarship Fund

To sponsor a child's schooling by credit card, please give $360/year, $90/quarter or $30/month to the school of your choice here. The extra $10 covers the cost of the credit card transaction.

About ISSF

Since beginning in 2005, the International Student Scholarship Fund has grown to be able to send about 300 students to school in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and South Africa. In each location, we have a trusted partner who chooses the students and administrates the program at no charge to us. That means that none of your scholarship money pays for administrative expenses.

Each scholarship costs $350 per year and each sponsor commits to supporting their child through secondary school or university for the same amount.

Each partner has been chosen because MIPC Missions is already in relationship or familiar with the partner organization and each partner is able to do on-site administration. This means that they will have regular contact with the students and their families and keep a careful record of each student and the use of the scholarship money. They will see to it that there be yearly communication between the scholarship student and the sponsor (Or in the case of The Child Academy, with each class). Good in-country administrators are the key to a successful program.

As you know, poor children are often not able to attend school because their families cannot pay all the costs connected with schooling. Costs for uniforms, books, examination fees and other fees are still part of a “free” education. These costs are prohibitive for the poor, yet we know that an education is the best hope for a better life for poor students and their families.

Homes Without Boundaries Education Fund

Tijuana, Mexico | Many of our families have built homes for poor families in Tijuana through HWB. We have now started an education fund which allows students to go to school and get afterschool tutoring.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam | Blind students receive support to develop a career and become part of a caring community.

Daughters of Mary Immaculate

Hue, Vietnam | An order of Roman Catholic nuns who run a medical clinic for the poor and are in regular contact with hundreds of poor students and their families in central Vietnam.

Vietnam Presbyterian Church

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam | Scholarships are available for poor sons and daughters of the VNPC and for pastors and church leaders to complete their education.

Bright Scholars (formerly Servants to Asia’s Urban Poor)

Phnom Penh, Cambodia | A Christian organization in the slums of Phnom Penh that oversees the welfare of 700 AIDS orphans.

Mekong Minority Foundation

Chiang Rai Thailand | MIPC has had a scholarship program there for poor girls since 1992.

Child Academy

Tembisa, South Africa | The main objective of the Child Academy is to promote educational opportunities for poor children living in Tembisa township. The Child Academy provides a ray of hope for children and families living in extreme poverty.
