A Haiti Relief Concert by The Tim Hamp Band

7:30PM, Friday, October 14, 2011

The Tim Hamp Band with Tim Hamp, Steve Bosetti& Scott Patterson presents “A Night of Smooth Jazz”.  Tim will play his original works, piano solo and with his band.

There will be a free-will offering 100% of which will go to the Haiti relief effort.

I am thankful for the gift of music that God has given. For me it’s been a playground to discover, enjoy, find inspiration, and share with others.” Tim has been playing by ear since he was 12yrs old. He has 2 self-produced CD releases entitled, “Lift Me Up” and “Hit The Keys,” and plans to have a new CD available for the concert. His music best fits the smooth jazz category, and can be enjoyed by families of all generations.

On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude quake hit Haiti. We remember the impact of that disaster and its lasting effects on the people in need. “At the time like many of us, I felt a compelling desire to contribute to the relief effort. Beyond that, I felt God’s call to do more, and the concert idea came to mind.” An important part of this call was to do something in the future, 6 months or a year out, when support often fades with the growing distance from the event.

“My hope is that this concert will provide an experience of fun and the opportunity to give a little bit back to this worthwhile cause. Let’s celebrate the wonderful gift of music, both for the player and the listener, and allow God’s Spirit to move in the joy to be, and to share as a community of faith.

 The Lyric Arts Ensemble

7PM, Saturday, November 19, 2011

The Lyric Arts Ensemble, now in their 12th year, is comprised of 16 vocalists and chamber orchestra. Based in Bellevue, musicians travel from Monroe to Mukilteo and Auburn to participate.  They are conducted by Kenneth L. DeJong, Music Director and Organist at Saint Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue.  Focusing on newly-published choral music, they also enjoy performing historical masterpieces frequently programmed by large choral-orchestral ensembles.  Their size lends itself to musical clarity, yet with sufficient vocal power to fill their performance venues.   Since many of the musicians perform with other ensembles, December gets really busy, so their Christmas concert is on the weekend before Thanksgiving.   This concert will include music by Bach and Handel, along with new settings of modern and ancient holiday texts.   Interaction between conductor and audience helps create a warm ambience.

No Admission on this concert.
